Traffic Jam

Half my life in tin box time – traffic jam
20 miles an hour and a caution sign – traffic jam
Traffic jam - I can’t stand it
Traffic jam
This is a testing town and I’m in a traffic jam
Got a full time job but its no great shakes - Traffic jam
And a thousand pound habit of grand mistakes - Traffic jam
Traffic jam - I can’t stand it
Traffic jam
This is a testing time and I’m in a traffic jam
Less is more but less is less
Know what’s in store but I digress
Traffic jam - I can’t stand it
Traffic jam
This is a testing town and I’m in a traffic jam

Mr Beck

Back in ‘31
Harry Beck had just begun
His draftsman's view of the Underground
It shows the Bakerloo
The Central, District too
Colour coded as they criss cross London Town
Harry reasoned well
That you did not need to tell
The distance travelled down each railway line
Now many years have passed
It’s recognised as art
The affection growing deeper over time
And to me
Mr Beck was doing fine
It’s down to his
Wonderful design
Such an elegant touch
That’s why it’s loved so much
Standing passing fashions, staying new
Beauty that will last
It set itself apart
Tip your top hat to the tuppenny tube

Got to cut back on my news - Got the information blues
It’s important to stay in touch - I’m the man who knows too much
Everything I read is fact - not a hypochondriac
Check the web when feeling rough - I’m the man who knows too much
I can help you get tipped off for free
Everybody’s getting ripped off - why not me?
I should have tried not to listen
They say it’s a conspiracy
But they don’t know what they’re missing
But all the infos out on show – but only some are in the know
I got bargains on my mind - Know a man I think you’ll find
Have to have a such n such - I’m the man who knows too much
Shouldn’t scroll through other phones – too much time when left alone
Wish I hadn’t kept a watch - I’m the man who knows too much
I can find out what they’re hiding from me
Everything is coinciding – can’t you see?
I should have tried not to listen
They say it’s a conspiracy
But they don’t know what they’re missing
But all the infos out on show – but only some are in the know
I’m the man who knows too much
I’m the man who knows too much
I’m the man who knows too much

Bags are packed

Bags in the hall, sit and watch us all Guilt can bring you down
Lines of cases - of disgraces Don’t try to talk me round
Load the hatchback piece by piece Been doing it too long
Luggage packed and life roof racked Must have got something wrong
Pace the hall – what’s with it all?
Some things left behind
Bags are packed. Got the packing knack yeah
Next time we’re here – be another year
Must keep moving on
Though we sit and laugh about what’s in the past
It never lets us go
Time well spent and what we meant
What’s coming we never know
As we close the door – we can’t be sure
learn to live with our regret
Don’t count the cost of what was lost
but we aren’t finished yet
Pace the hall – what’s with it all?
Some things left behind
Bags are packed. Got the packing knack yeah
Next time we’re here – it’s another year
Must keep moving on

The Gluespots UK
Hampshire brothers Jim and Dave, aided by Geoff, Rod, Leo and other compadres, The Gluespots write songs and record them. What do they sound like? Essentially indie- acoustic but with occasional unlikely forays into synths and rock and roll.
